The Kinheimer Rosenberg vineyard is among the most elegant sites in the Middle Mosel and is known for its exceptionally finely structured Rieslings with great finesse. The steep slopes above the village of Kinheim are shaped by the Mosel River and offer ideal conditions for the slow, even ripening of the grapes. Terroir: Blue slate

The Rosenberg vineyard surrounds the Moselle village of Kinheim. Its southern exposure and proximity to the Moselle River create a perfect microclimate, which this wine reflects through its balance and complexity.

VDP.GROSSES GEWÄCHS

VDP.GROSSE LAGE designates the highest quality German vineyards. Here, the best wines mature, boasting complex flavors, expressive terroir character, and exceptional aging potential. The vineyard sites are determined by the VDP regional associations and precisely delineated by parcel.

The grapes are selectively harvested by hand, and the harvest quantity is limited to a maximum yield of 50 hl per hectare.

At our winery, we produce 7 Grosses Gewächs wines from VDP.GROSSE LAGE vineyards. These are dry Rieslings, hand-picked and hand-selected, spontaneously fermented in used oak barrels and aged on the lees in those same barrels for at least one year. Only then are the wines released for sale.

In addition to a fascinating aroma, the wines also acquire a great structure and natural harmony for a long life.

Today, Dr. Loosen is internationally recognized as the flagship of a rediscovered German Riesling culture.

Since 1993, the winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
