The J. Christopher winery is located in the northern Willamette Valley in Oregon, in the Chehalem Mountains AVA (American Viticultural Area).In addition to our own Appassionata Vineyard, we source grapes from some of the best vineyards in Oregon.– either we manage the vineyards ourselves or we work very closely with the respective winegrowers.

The Willamette Valley begins at the Columbia River in Portland and extends south through Salem to the Calapooya Mountains near Eugene.The Coast Range forms the western boundary, while the Cascade Mountains mark the eastern boundary.

The climate here is generally mild, with cool, wet winters and warm, dry summers, although temperature and rainfall can vary greatly.
