The Villa Wolf Sauvignon Blanc “Philia” from the Palatinate region is an elegant, dry white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Partial aging in large 500-liter acacia wood barrels imparts a fine, structured, and slightly creamy character. Its bouquet often displays fresh citrus and yellow fruit aromas with crisp acidity and subtle spice, while the acacia wood aging adds further refinement and finesse. The name “Philia” represents friendly love and reflects the connection between enjoyment and community – a fresh, crisp wine that delights both on its own and paired with light cuisine.

This product is manufactured by Villa Wolf GmbH using contract materials.

in the Central Mosel

In Germany and around the world – Ernst Loosen's wine projects beyond the Moselle.

Great wines, in Ernst Loosen’s view, are born wherever soil, climate, and grape variety form a distinctive unity. This conviction has led him far beyond the Mosel. In Germany’s Pfalz, he has revived the historic Villa Wolf estate, while in Puligny-Montrachet in Burgundy he has breathed new life into the venerable Maison Perron de Mypont. In Oregon, his projects Appassionata Estate and J. Christopher Wines produce Pinot Noirs of world-class quality.

Each of these ventures carries Ernst’s unmistakable signature: authenticity, precision, and an uncompromising commitment to capturing the character of a place in every bottle.
