Our Wines

Red Riesling was already cultivated in the Middle Ages and produces wines rich in extract and expressive. Long forgotten, this grape variety is experiencing a small renaissance. An invigorating acidity, characteristic of the Middle Moselle region, paired with delicate fruit, makes this wine a wonderful food companion.

A powerful, very elegant Riesling, made exclusively from vineyards in the village of Graach. The weathered blue slate soil gives the wine its freshness and elegance. This wine combines the characteristics of the Graach vineyards into a typical village Riesling. As with all our dry wines, we use only hand-selected, healthy grapes (free from botrytis).

The off-dry Graacher Himmelreich Tradition combines the complexity of dry Rieslings with the characteristic, invigorating interplay of sweetness and acidity of the Middle Moselle. For this wine, 10% destemmed grapes are co-fermented, followed by a 24-month aging period in large wooden barrels on the lees. This special wine is a reminiscence of the time before the 1971 amendment to the wine law, when, among other things, residual sugar levels were strictly regulated and limited depending on the wine type.

The Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Kabinett displays all the lightness and finesse of a classic Mosel Kabinett, paired with the exotic aromas of the Würzgarten vineyard. On the nose, fresh citrus notes, apple, and a hint of peach unfold, combined with exotic aromas and the spicy minerality of the famous red volcanic rock in Ürzig.
On the palate, the wine presents itself as juicy, clear and wonderfully balanced: a lively, finely interwoven acidity meets delicate fruit and a mineral, elegant finish.
A refreshingly drinkable, delicate Kabinett with typical Würzgarten spice, which delights both young and has a nice aging potential.

The Dr. Loosen Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett is a classic Mosel Riesling of great elegance and lightness. The nose reveals aromas of juicy peach, citrus fruits, and delicate floral notes, underpinned by the typical slate minerality of the steep Erdener Treppchen vineyard. On the palate, it impresses with lively acidity, moderate residual sweetness, and a precise, refreshing finish. A finely balanced, invigorating Kabinett with excellent drinkability and a clear expression of terroir.

From a Riesling wine with residual sugar, we produce two dealcoholized products. Both items were dealcoholized using our carefully selected base wine without the addition of any sweeteners, resulting in a natural and harmonious flavor. An exciting alternative for enjoying alcohol-free beverages.

Just because you consciously abstain from alcohol doesn't mean you have to sacrifice taste, quality, or elegance. DR. LO demonstrates that an alcohol-free wine can be just as exciting, versatile, and sophisticated as its classic counterpart.
For a top-quality alcohol-free Riesling, the meticulous care begins long before dealcoholization. We chose a classic Mosel Riesling as our base, which naturally had low alcohol content, vibrant acidity, and contained only the natural sweetness of the grapes – without any added sugar.
This wine was then gently purified of its alcohol using a modern vacuum distillation process. The major advantage: because the base wine already possessed a natural, incompletely fermented sweetness, no grape must needed to be added. This preserves the authentic character of the Riesling – clear, pure, and unadulterated.
The DR. LO Riesling possesses the ideal balance of fresh Riesling acidity and juicy fruit. On the palate, it unmistakably tastes like a true Mosel Riesling – delicate, fruit-forward, yet with a subtle hint of dryness. The typical Mosel acidity brings freshness, clarity, and a pleasantly lively drinkability.

Villa Wolf Pinot Gris – a classic Pinot Gris from our Villa Wolf estate wine line. Well-balanced, with a lovely smoothness and the typical Palatinate minerality. It was right here in the Palatinate that Pinot Gris was recognized as a grape variety in the 19th century and first vinified independently. An elegant and sophisticated wine that, despite its complexity, offers great drinking pleasure.

Ingredients

The Pinot Noir Rosé from the Palatinate is a lively, dry rosé made from 100% Pinot Noir grapes. Its delicate salmon-pink color is achieved through a gentle process with short maceration. It impresses with bright, fruity aromas of red berries such as strawberries and raspberries, as well as fresh citrus, all balanced by a crisp acidity and fine minerality typical of the Palatinate soils. The wine is light, refreshing, and clearly structured with a clean, vibrant finish – an ideal companion for balmy evenings, social gatherings, or as an aperitif.

Bright red and incredibly steep, the Ürziger Würzgarten vineyard forms a unique amphitheater of Rotliegend (red volcanic rock). It produces a completely different kind of great Riesling, full of exotic, spicy aromas and great depth. In some years, you can taste anise and even a hint of Gewürztraminer.

This very steep vineyard produces one of the most elegant and delicately fragrant white wines in the world. The stony, shallow, blue slate soil lends the wine a delicate, fresh acidity and a unique elegance. The wines of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard are the most charming of our estate when young, captivating with aromas of white peach and green apple.

The late harvest wine from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard stands for finesse, precision, and crystal-clear elegance. In the glass, the typical Sonnenuhr signature is revealed: delicate white peach, lime zest, green apple, and fine apricot fruit, accompanied by floral hints of acacia and citrus blossom. On the palate, the fine, dancing sweetness combines with a brilliant, vibrant acidity and the cool slate minerality that has made this vineyard world-famous.
The texture remains consistently light, delicate, and silky, imbued with an elegance possessed only by great Mosel late harvest wines. With increasing maturity, aromas of honey, candied citrus fruits, and a subtle hint of petrol develop – without ever losing their freshness.

The Villa Wolf Gewürztraminer 2024 from the Palatinate region is an aromatically intense, off-dry white wine made from 100% Gewürztraminer grapes, best enjoyed young. It displays a seductive bouquet with notes of lychee, rose petals, and white peach, accompanied by a subtle exotic spice. On the palate, it combines juicy fruit with a delicate, slightly sweet tang, perfectly balanced by lively freshness and well-integrated acidity. This makes it elegant, charming, and ideal as an aperitif or paired with Asian-inspired dishes.

The 2018 Dr. Loosen Riesling Beerenauslese is an elegant, lusciously sweet Mosel classic that impressively embodies the art of Beerenauslese. It combines intense fruit sweetness with lively, finely integrated acidity, which means that despite its abundant sugar content, it never feels heavy, but always remains fresh and balanced.
A luxurious, versatile dessert wine that combines sweetness, finesse and regional character in perfect harmony.

The grapes for this great, dry wine ripen in the oldest parcel of the Treppchen vineyard, where there is always enough wind to prevent rot from developing in the first place. This allows for very long ripening periods. The Treppchen vineyard, with its bright red, iron-rich slate, produces spicy, complex wines of enormous minerality and density, characterized by aromas of red apple and ripe quince.

Loosen Würzgarten Vermouth is an exceptional, reinterpreted vermouth that combines the aromatic power of the Moselle region with the diverse spices of the historic Ürzig spice garden. It is based on a fine, delicately sweet Moselle Kabinett grape, whose elegant freshness, natural sweetness, and subtle acidity provide a perfect foundation for the aromatic complexity of a high-quality vermouth.
At the foot of Ürzig's world-famous steep slopes lies the Ürzig Spice Garden, a botanical gem where herbs, spices, and rare cultivated plants have thrived for centuries. From this impressive diversity come some of the eleven carefully selected botanicals that define the character of Würzgarten Vermouth. The plants and fruits are harvested throughout the year at their optimal ripeness and either extracted fresh or carefully dried to preserve their natural aromas.
By using regional botanicals, the project not only supports the preservation of this unique garden, but also connects to the historical link between viticulture, herbalism and regional culinary culture.
The vermouth is aged in traditional Moselle oak casks without any added sugar – a rarity in modern vermouth production. This ensures a clear, precise, and elegant style, with natural sweetness derived solely from the wine. The result is a vermouth that is simultaneously complex, subtly spicy, and refreshingly light.
