Brut Nature means: no sugar, no dilution, no soft focus – just Riesling, slate and craftsmanship.
A luxurious, versatile dessert wine that combines sweetness, finesse and regional character in perfect harmony.
In the glass, the Kabinett presents itself as clear and brilliant. Aromatically, it displays ripe citrus notes, juicy Gala apple and Mirabelle plum aromas, accompanied by a light herbal spiciness and a hint of wet slate.
In its late harvest, the Treppchen reveals its full strength: a play of concentrated fruit, delicate sweetness, and captivating, vibrant acidity. Ripe aromas of peach, apricot, red apple peel, and a touch of citrus zest combine with a mineral depth typical of the red slate soil. The texture remains lean and elegant – never heavy, always graceful and refined.

The three Grand Cru vineyards bring together three different soil types: blue slate, volcanic rock and red slate, along with own-rooted vines.
Fermentation takes place spontaneously in the old cask, then 24 months on full lees in the barrel (without racking) plus 24 months of bottle maturation.
It tastes concentrated and clear: more structure, more tension, more lingering effect.

VDP.Classification
Since 1993, Dr. Loosen Winery has been a member of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates).
Through the VDP classification, the estate commits to the highest quality standards, placing origin and terroir at the center of its winemaking philosophy.
Dr. Loosen Estate
Pioneer of the rediscovered German Riesling culture
In family ownership for over 200 years, the estate has been led by Ernst F. Loosen since 1988. In his view, great wines are the perfect expression of soil, climate, and grape variety.
With the heritage of his ancestors – own-rooted, old vines in historic Grosse Lagen of the Central Mosel – he found exactly the material needed to craft distinctive, complex wines of world-class caliber. Today, Dr. Loosen is internationally recognized as the flagship of a rediscovered German Riesling culture.
Since 1993, the winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).

OUR VINEYARDS
In the 1868 vineyard map of the Trier administrative district, created as a basis for tax assessment for Mosel estates, nine of our vineyards were designated as Grosse Lagen.
This classification is comparable to the Grand Cru system of Burgundy and was updated in 1995 by Stuart Pigott and Hugh Johnson in their German Wine Atlas. Today, we deliberately draw on this historically proven, cultural classification.
Since 1988, we have bottled exclusively Rieslings from these classified Grosse Lagen as single-vineyard wines, while all other wines are released by us as Gutsriesling.
