The Dr. Loosen Erdener Treppchen Riesling Kabinett is a classic Mosel Riesling of great elegance and lightness. The "Lay" (an old term for slate) is a gently sloping hillside on the outskirts of Bernkastel, curving towards the Moselle River. The weathered slate soil produces full-bodied, intensely mineral wines, often with notes of green apple, white peach, and sometimes cassis.

The Grauschiefer Riesling feinherb is a typical, characterful wine from the Middle Moselle region, impressively demonstrating the delicate balance that can be achieved between natural Riesling acidity, elegant fruit sweetness, and mineral slate spice. The grapes come from classic steep slopes around Bernkastel, characterized by barren, heat-retaining Devonian slate – the foundation for its clear, radiant aromatics.

The Villa Wolf Sauvignon Blanc “Philia” from the Palatinate region is an elegant, dry white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Partial aging in large 500-liter acacia wood barrels imparts a fine, structured, and slightly creamy character. A timeless expression of terroir and elegance. From the heart of Burgundy's revered Côte des Blancs comes the Meursault Premier Cru les Perrières, capturing the essence of this exceptional region. Meursault, nestled between the renowned villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune, is world-famous for its exceptional white wines, with Perrières being among its most coveted Premier Cru vineyards. The name "Perrières" derives from the Latin "petrarium," meaning "quarry," aptly reflecting the vineyard's stark, rocky soils, rich in white limestone, which impart a distinctive minerality to this Chardonnay.
An intense yet beautifully balanced Pinot Noir that captures the complex character of this historic village. This wine is a blend of two parcels: one in the Premier Cru Les Crâs and the other in the Premier Cru Les Petits Vougeots. These two vineyards are situated between the north face of the famous Clos de Vougeot and the neighboring village of Chambolle-Musigny. The lower-lying Les Crâs vineyard lends the wine depth and firm structure, while the highly calcareous soil of Les Petits Vougeots imparts the elegance and finesse typical of Chambolle. The Edition Perron de Mypont Meursault is a blend of grapes from various parcels in the southern part of the appellation, near our headquarters in Puligny-Montrachet. These parcels lie in and around the rocky slope of Les Narvaux, a highly regarded Climat located west of and slightly above the Premier Cru vineyard Les Genevrières. This prestigious village in the southern Côte d'Or is known for its hard, white limestone soil, which imparts a vibrant energy and a fine mineral structure to the Chardonnay. The wine has a classic green-gold color, ripe fruit and floral aromas, and a full, fleshy texture held together by a fiery note.

This classically elegant Volnay Village wine enchants the senses with its vibrant ruby-red color and an aromatic profile of violets, gooseberries, and cherries. In the glass, it unfolds into a complex blend of spices, game, and baked plums. The taste is a harmonious mix of fresh fruit and intoxicating aromas, with a lively start and a warm, satisfying finish. Each sip feels like biting into fresh fruit, offering an irresistible and sophisticated drinking experience.
A pure and finely balanced expression of the Burgundian terroir through its native red grape variety. The Perron de Mypont Pinot Noir comes from select vineyard parcels in the Côte de Beaune and the Côte Chalonnaise. The grapes are harvested at optimal ripeness in the cool morning hours to preserve finesse and elegance. They are then carefully sorted and destemmed. After fermentation and pressing, a portion of the cuvée ages for 10 months in used French oak barrels and 600-liter demi-muids, with minimal racking to preserve the core of its aromatic character. The wine displays delicate aromas of red berries and a fine, concentrated texture on the palate. It is a pure and classic expression of Pinot Noir from its native Burgundy.

Pioneer of the rediscovered German Riesling culture
In family ownership for over 200 years, the estate has been led by Ernst F. Loosen since 1988. In his view, great wines are the perfect expression of soil, climate, and grape variety.
With the heritage of his ancestors – own-rooted, old vines in historic Grosse Lagen of the Central Mosel – he found exactly the material needed to craft distinctive, complex wines of world-class caliber. Today, Dr. Loosen is internationally recognized as the flagship of a rediscovered German Riesling culture.
Since 1993, the winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).

OUR VINEYARDS
In the 1868 vineyard map of the Trier administrative district, created as a basis for tax assessment for Mosel estates, nine of our vineyards were designated as Grosse Lagen.
This classification is comparable to the Grand Cru system of Burgundy and was updated in 1995 by Stuart Pigott and Hugh Johnson in their German Wine Atlas. Today, we deliberately draw on this historically proven, cultural classification.
Since 1988, we have bottled exclusively Rieslings from these classified Grosse Lagen as single-vineyard wines, while all other wines are released by us as Gutsriesling.
