The Grauschiefer Riesling feinherb is a typical, characterful wine from the Middle Moselle region, impressively demonstrating the delicate balance that can be achieved between natural Riesling acidity, elegant fruit sweetness, and mineral slate spice. The grapes come from classic steep slopes around Bernkastel, characterized by barren, heat-retaining Devonian slate – the foundation for its clear, radiant aromatics.
The nose opens with juicy aromas of white peach, apricot, and ripe apple, underpinned by a hint of lemon and the typical smoky slate minerality. On the palate, the wine is playful and finely balanced: the delicate residual sweetness buffers the lively acidity without ever feeling heavy. The Villa Wolf Sauvignon Blanc “Philia” from the Palatinate region is an elegant, dry white wine made from 100% Sauvignon Blanc grapes. Partial aging in large 500-liter acacia wood barrels imparts a fine, structured, and slightly creamy character. Its bouquet often displays fresh citrus and yellow fruit aromas with crisp acidity and subtle spice, while the acacia wood aging adds further refinement and finesse. The name “Philia” represents friendly love and reflects the connection between enjoyment and community – a fresh, crisp wine that delights both on its own and paired with light cuisine.

A timeless expression of terroir and elegance. From the heart of Burgundy's revered Côte des Blancs comes the Meursault Premier Cru les Perrières, capturing the essence of this exceptional region. Meursault, nestled between the renowned villages of Puligny-Montrachet and Beaune, is world-famous for its exceptional white wines, with Perrières being among its most coveted Premier Cru vineyards. The name "Perrières" derives from the Latin "petrarium," meaning "quarry," aptly reflecting the vineyard's stark, rocky soils, rich in white limestone, which impart a distinctive minerality to this Chardonnay.
A dynamic expression of Chardonnay from the limestone heart of the Côte de Beaune. The Edition Perron de Mypont Meursault is a blend of grapes from various parcels in the southern part of the appellation, near our headquarters in Puligny-Montrachet. These parcels lie in and around the rocky slope of Les Narvaux, a highly regarded Climat located west of and slightly above the Premier Cru vineyard Les Genevrières. This prestigious village in the southern Côte d'Or is known for its hard, white limestone soil, which imparts a vibrant energy and a fine mineral structure to the Chardonnay. The wine has a classic green-gold color, ripe fruit and floral aromas, and a full, fleshy texture held together by a fiery note.
Inspired by the historical winemaking techniques of Erni Loosen's great-grandfather, the Appassionata Riesling GG is produced in the same way as the Dr. Loosen Grosses Gewächs Rieslings he makes in Germany. The GG designation signifies a dry-style wine from a vineyard of particular significance—in this case, the old Medici vineyard, planted in 1976. We cultivate this exceptional area, located just a few kilometers east on the Chehalem Mountain Ridge. The wine is fermented in a 3,000-liter neutral German oak cask. It rests on the lees for two years and is then aged in the bottle for three to five years before release.
A fresh and vibrant Chardonnay that expresses the true character of Burgundy's quintessential white wine grape. The Perron de Mypont Chardonnay comes from select vineyard parcels in Burgundy's classic Chardonnay growing regions: the Côte de Beaune, the Côte Chalonnaise, and Chablis. To ensure the wine's elegance and finesse, the grapes were harvested at the beginning of the harvest in the cool morning hours, at optimal ripeness. After fermentation, part of the blend aged for nine months in used French oak barrels and 600-liter demi-muids to develop texture and complexity while preserving freshness. The finished wine is round and balanced, with aromas of white fruit and delicate flowers on a fine mineral structure.

Our Aligoté comes from various limestone vineyards throughout Burgundy and is fermented with natural yeasts in large 1,000-liter casks. It then ages in the cask on its lees to impart depth, richness, and structure. This wine is bright, with a pale golden color and an expressive aroma profile of delicate white flowers such as jasmine, paired with notes of yellow fruits, nectarine, and citrus peel. On the palate, it is crisp and lively, with a pronounced minerality that adds depth and complexity. The finish is vibrant and invigorating, leaving a lasting impression of freshness. This versatile and food-friendly wine is best served slightly chilled.

On the palate, the wine is dense and concentrated, elegantly balanced between lively acidity, sweet fruit, and distinct minerality. The grapes for this great, dry wine ripen in the oldest parcel of the Treppchen vineyard, where there is always enough wind to prevent rot from developing in the first place. This allows for very long ripening periods. The Treppchen vineyard, with its bright red, iron-rich slate, produces spicy, complex wines of enormous minerality and density, characterized by aromas of red apple and ripe quince.
The late harvest wine from the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard stands for finesse, precision, and crystal-clear elegance. In the glass, the typical Sonnenuhr signature is revealed: delicate white peach, lime zest, green apple, and fine apricot fruit, accompanied by floral hints of acacia and citrus blossom. On the palate, the fine, dancing sweetness combines with a brilliant, vibrant acidity and the cool slate minerality that has made this vineyard world-famous.

Bright red and incredibly steep, the Ürziger Würzgarten vineyard forms a unique amphitheater of Rotliegend (red volcanic rock). It produces a completely different kind of great Riesling, full of exotic, spicy aromas and great depth. In some years, you can taste anise and even a hint of Gewürztraminer.
The red, iron-rich slate of the Erdener Treppchen vineyard gives the Rieslings a spicy, almost peppery minerality, which clearly distinguishes them from the neighboring, finer Ürziger Würzgarten vineyard.

This very steep vineyard produces one of the most elegant and delicately fragrant white wines in the world. The stony, shallow, blue slate soil lends the wine a delicate, fresh acidity and a unique elegance. The wines of the Wehlener Sonnenuhr vineyard are the most charming of our estate when young, captivating with aromas of white peach and green apple.
We produce this great, dry wine from one of our oldest, ungrafted vineyards in the Graacher Himmelreich vineyard, with vines averaging 130 years old. Besides its power and elegance, the wine possesses wonderful vineyard peach and herbal notes, combined with a deep minerality – truly heavenly. This top-quality dry wine spends twelve months on its lees before bottling. This gives it not only its captivating aromas but also a magnificent structure and natural harmony, ensuring a long lifespan.
The off-dry Graacher Himmelreich Tradition combines the complexity of dry Rieslings with the characteristic, invigorating interplay of sweetness and acidity of the Middle Moselle. For this wine, 10% destemmed grapes are co-fermented, followed by a 24-month aging period in large wooden barrels on the lees. This special wine is a reminiscence of the time before the 1971 amendment to the wine law, when, among other things, residual sugar levels were strictly regulated and limited depending on the wine type.

Pioneer of the rediscovered German Riesling culture
In family ownership for over 200 years, the estate has been led by Ernst F. Loosen since 1988. In his view, great wines are the perfect expression of soil, climate, and grape variety.
With the heritage of his ancestors – own-rooted, old vines in historic Grosse Lagen of the Central Mosel – he found exactly the material needed to craft distinctive, complex wines of world-class caliber. Today, Dr. Loosen is internationally recognized as the flagship of a rediscovered German Riesling culture.
Since 1993, the winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).

OUR VINEYARDS
In the 1868 vineyard map of the Trier administrative district, created as a basis for tax assessment for Mosel estates, nine of our vineyards were designated as Grosse Lagen.
This classification is comparable to the Grand Cru system of Burgundy and was updated in 1995 by Stuart Pigott and Hugh Johnson in their German Wine Atlas. Today, we deliberately draw on this historically proven, cultural classification.
Since 1988, we have bottled exclusively Rieslings from these classified Grosse Lagen as single-vineyard wines, while all other wines are released by us as Gutsriesling.
