The Dr. Loosen Spätburgunder Rosé Brut is a true Mosel original – born from a happy coincidence and a large dose of curiosity. When we were offered a Spätburgunder vineyard in the Ürziger Würzgarten a few years ago, it was immediately clear: we had to seize this opportunity. A Pinot Noir from one of the most spectacular Riesling sites on the Mosel. It was precisely this allure of the unusual that encouraged us to experiment. And the result speaks for itself.
Following traditional bottle fermentation and an impressive eight years of lees aging, this Rosé Brut presents itself with great finesse, delicate complexity, and a firm, elegant structure. A noble sparkling wine that showcases Pinot Noir at its freshest and most profound.

Dr. Loosen's sparkling wines demonstrate how Mosel Riesling and Pinot Noir find expression in sparkling wine. Classic Riesling sparkling wine Brut, Purist sparkling wine Brut Nature or the unusual Pinot Noir Rosé Brut, all are produced using traditional bottle fermentation and long lees aging.

The wines are characterized by fresh fruit, lively acidity and precise minerality. They are versatile: as an aperitif, for toasting, or with light dishes. Typically Moselle, elegant and clear, the sparkling wines reflect the signature style of Dr. Loosen and the unique characteristics of the slate vineyards.

In family ownership for over 200 years, the estate has been led by Ernst F. Loosen since 1988.

In his view, great wines are the perfect expression of soil, climate, and grape variety.

With the heritage of his ancestors – own-rooted, old vines in historic Grosse Lagen of the Central Mosel – he found exactly the material needed to craft distinctive, complex wines of world-class caliber. Today, Dr. Loosen is internationally recognized as the flagship of a rediscovered German Riesling culture.

Since 1993, the winery has been a member of the VDP (Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter).
