In the heart of the Campo Rotaliano, a unique alluvial basin nestled between Dolomite peaks, Elisabetta Foradori has been reinterpreting the indigenous Teroldego grape variety for over 40 years. From hand-picked parcels, cultivated biodynamically and characterized by alluvial sand and dolomitic limestone, a wine is created that reflects the identity of its homeland like few others.
The 2010 Teroldego is a striking example of how wonderfully this indigenous Dolomite grape variety can ripen. The year was characterized by moderate temperatures, cool nights, and a long growing season – ideal conditions for a wine of depth and structure.
After spontaneous fermentation in cement and maturation in cement and wood, the wine now shows a harmoniously matured profile that nevertheless retains its alpine tension.
On the nose, ripe notes of black cherry, dark plums and blackberries open up, accompanied by violets, smoke, dried herbs and a hint of undergrowth.
On the palate, the 2010 vintage is silky and expansive, with ripe, polished tannins and a vibrant acidity that has remarkably aged well. The dark, juicy fruit blends with earthy and mineral nuances typical of Campo Rotaliano.

We produce this great, dry wine from one of our oldest, ungrafted vineyards in the Graacher Himmelreich vineyard, with vines averaging 130 years old. This top-quality dry wine spends twelve months on its lees before bottling. The friendship between Ernst Loosen of the Dr. Loosen winery on the Moselle and Peter Barry of the Jim Barry winery in Australia's Clare Valley began in London in 1995. The idea for a joint project stems from both winemakers' passion for the Riesling grape variety. The Walhalla Riesling is a tribute to the Barry family's winemaking techniques. Walhalla is German for "Garden of the Gods," where the souls of heroes slain in battle were received by Odin and where they celebrated with drinking and feasting throughout the day.
